Mindtree’s mInspect in the honor roll at SAP TechEd!

Posted on: 18 October '13

Following the theme of innovation across the supply chain, Mindtree’s mInspect solution has made the cut as one of the top 3 innovative applications in its category.  It will demo at the SAP TechEd conference on Oct 23rd. mInspect is a mobile solution that integrates with SAP’s Commercial Project Management (CPM), more specifically with the Issue Management module.

What does mInspect do that makes it a top innovation? The key business drivers are:

  • Enables perfect order fulfillment
  • Reduces supply chain risk
  • Enhances customer satisfaction

mInspect addresses the needs of managers and supervisors who need to effectively plan logistics. These stakeholders on the ground need better visibility and traceability of actions and tasks. They also require quick notifications on possible bottlenecks for effective actions to reduce the downtime.  Paper based data capture is slow and proves costly in situations where information needs to be processed on the go and where turnaround time is of paramount importance. There could also be loss of data between the paperwork & system entry. In addition, there are no quick and efficient ways to fix other issues that may be found during execution of this manual process.

Mobile enabled issue management and tracking promises to have a significant positive influence on management of field logistics. The appeal of these devices lies largely in their flexibility and the power of collaboration they provide. With a tablet or smart phone in hand, managers no longer need to return to their desks to obtain essential operating data; they can pull up the information wherever they are-whether in the warehouse or on the road. With analytical and personalization capabilities built in, the information presented on these devices is contextual and immediately actionable.

From managing the movement of inventory within a warehouse to providing real-time status updates, Mindtree’s mInspect solution is an important enabler of excellent customer service even as it dramatically improves the productivity of the workforce. The capabilities will drive a better understanding of demand patterns, raise perfect-order rates, reduce supply chain risk, and help better manage the complexity of project management and reporting. Review some key trends in the logistics industry in our blog post here.
